Engagement season is here…..

Engagement Season

Never heard of it? Well, if you are a bride wanting to get married next year you need to know about Engagement Season. It’s a real thing.

Savoir Flair on Engagement SeasonEvery year MOST couples get engaged between Thanksgiving and Valentines Day.  This means that come January (after the holidays of showing off the ring to friends and family) couples are ready to get down to the nitty gritty with planning their weddings.  Which means that they are all vying for the same vendors and sites at the same time.  Don’t fret.  But,be wise.  IF you were lucky enough to get engaged before Engagement season…do not procrastinate.  Get in what I call “decision making mode.”  You will want to secure the following before engagement season if at all possible: Wedding Coordinator, Site, Photographer, Band/DJ, Florist.  These are the vendors that book up first and in that particular order. If you have all of those set before engagement season you can rest easy and enjoy your holiday season.  If you don’t get that done before, you will want to try to secure them DURING the holiday season.  This can be a bit more difficult as vendors like florists are busy with seasonal events and don’t have as much time to meet and put together proposals. But keep on them and get those appointments on the books, even if its not till after the season,  because as soon as January 2 rolls around their phones will be ringing off the hook for appointments and you’ll already have yours set.

I don’t mean to stress all of you out with this news that there is a time crunch on your planning.  But I do think its good to be informed so you can plan wisely.

Benefits of hiring an event planner for corporate events…..

Benefits of Corporate Event Planning

The planning of a large events usually requires a great deal of time and effort. Each step should be carefully thought-out if you want to create an enjoyable gathering and minimize room for mistakes. Some companies or organizations have enough time, resources, and experience to do so, but others might not have the budget to hire a third party planning firm so they do things on their own.

Benefits of corporate event planning include saving you time, money, and ensuring success. The success of an event depends on many different factors and the planner will focus on what is necessary to be done well. These companies take great care to save you time and money, including the venue selection, making travel arrangements, and booking hotel accommodations. Event planners will also prepare a food menu, hire speakers and personnel, organize entertainment program, recreational activities, and get audiovisual equipment, decorations and all the other things that meet the needs of the host and guests. Hiring a corporate event planner will provide you with the following benefits:

Money savings

Professional event planners will approach have a unique approach to your event and see it form all perspectives. Previous experience will help them determine what things should cost and to find out the difference in value. Planners also have a lot of connections with suppliers and producers. These relationships usually include lower rates for products and services that are not available to the public. Taking this into consider, planners will suggest services or products that fit to your needs and budget.

Negotiation

Corporate event planners are able to negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers. Since they have a huge purchasing power, corporate event planners have a lot of influence when negotiating with vendors, hotels and other service providers. The average person that is trying to plan a company event doesn’t have the purchasing power that planning companies do, so getting the best rates will prove to be fairly difficult if they don’t know what they are doing. Hiring a professional event planner will solve this.

Time savings

If you hire an event planner, you wouldn’t have to worry about logistics. Instead of using your time searching for the right vendors or catering company, you can leave this task to your planner to take care of it. This will leave you a lot of time to spend on taking care of details; creating networks and making all the guests feel welcome.

Less stress

Once you hire a professional planner, you won’t be under such a stress as you were while trying to do the entire job alone. Stress is even greater if your main job description does not include event planning. In this case a professional planner will be highly helpful in coordinating logistics, dealing issues, and making event run seamlessly, leaving you to do a quality work in your position.

Venue Management

When you want to organize an event, you should choose a venue that meets needs of your company and event itself. This seems very logical and basic, but could be a tough job for an inexperienced person. Luckily, an event planner will know how to choose the right meeting location as soon as you tell them what kind of gathering your company wants to organize. Planners will consider the right number, size, and shape of meeting rooms and even handle all the details of the event such as supervising guests, beverage, food, safety, music, etc. Hiring them will ensure that your event goes smoothly and according to plan.

Conclusion

Planning an event can be highly stressful with a lot of details to look into. With the help of an event planner, company’s or organization’s management will just have to give all the instructions and let the magic happen.

Midnight Rocker Events will step up to help plan your next corporate event!

Unique touches for your Open House

Free appetizers won’t sell a listing on their own, but offering tasty treats at your open house encourages buyers to linger longer and creates a positive atmosphere.

It’s such a great treat to be offered a cold glass of mimosa or sparkling lemonade with a bite of Swiss cheese and a spread of goose pate on a baguette bite….

Here are a few ideas for a successful open house that Midnight Rocker Events can help plan and organize for your next event!

10 Rules for a Delectable Open House

  • Forget silverware. If a guest at your open house needs to use a spoon, fork, or knife to graze at your buffet, the food is too fussy. Finger foods are always best.
  • Stage a pretty food and beverage station. Cut some flowers from your yard or buy a seasonal bouquet to serve as the focal point. You can use a tablecloth but make sure it’s not too formal. Quality disposable cups and plates are ideal, especially if you can find colorful ones that match the theme of the room.
  • Think small with cocktail-size plates. Smaller-size plates and napkins send the signal that you’re not serving a meal. It also helps control portion sizes so guests don’t monopolize what you’ve prepared.
  • Use candles to set the right mood. Place some scented votive candles around the table to make it feel extra special. But make sure the candles are in a safe place where they won’t be bumped into, and don’t forget to blow them out when the open house is over.
  • Bottled water is a must. Visiting open houses can feel like a marathon for home buyers. Your guests on-the-go will appreciate the portable pick-me-up.
  • Coffee is natural with house hunters. If you don’t want coffee consumed away from the station, don’t provide covers and sleeves. However, your visitors may appreciate being able to take the coffee on the road.
  • Have enough to offer, but not too much. Gauge your food needs based on the average attendance at an open house in your area. Plan for one beverage and three hors d’oeuvres per person with some extra set aside in the refrigerator in case of an unexpected rush. Be careful not to go overboard; lavish spreads could signal desperation to savvy home buyers.
  • Choose low-maintenance menu items. You should be able to spend your day talking to visitors and answering questions about the house, not tending to the food. Visitors should be able to easily serve themselves. If you feel the need to explain certain ingredients or identify food items, you can do so by using attractive placecards at the station.
  • Don’t provide alcohol. Open houses are business events, not parties. If people drink they are inclined to stay too long and lose focus on the most important thing — the house. You also want to make sure your visitors will be able to safely drive themselves home.
  • Cut down on cleanup. Place a waste container in a very visible place adjacent to the food and beverage station. If visitors can’t easily find a place to dispose of their garbage, they may leave it in other rooms of the house.
